ALLEE/LUCAS Index

My family is descended from ANDREW LAFAYETTE "FATE" ALLEE, 1844-1895 (son of Josiah, Merrill).

The three oldest children of A. Lafayette ALLEE and
Martha Elizabeth GRANT, 1846-187? (daughter of Thomas Grant and Nancy Jane Allee)
 married three children of
ANDREW JACK LUCAS, 1844 - 1916 (son of Hezekiah, Thomas) and
MARY ELIZABETH HOUSTON, 1842 - 1904 (daughter of Jonathan).
The allied families have a yearly reunion we call the Allee-Lucas Reunion.

The ALLEE heritage is documented in many sources. I'm trying to prove my line back to NICHOLAS ALLEE (1735-1808, Virginia). It is the relationship between NICHOLAS and MERRILL "MERRY" which is a matter of speculation and assumption. Nicholas had both a child named Merry and a grandson named Merrill. All clues from Southern Allee/Alley researchers would be most welcome.
